Over the years I've seen this error in software development approach repeated countless times. A company identifies a software need and, thinking they already know how to approach that need, proceeds to advertise for a programmer with experience in the development tool they wish to use (or think they should use). After getting that far they feel that the problem is at least 50% solved. But problems are just beginning. Programmers rarely speak the language of customers or management.
